Thank you to everyone who came along to our 21st Fireworks Display.

We had an amazing time, and hope you did to!!

This year’s profits will all be going towards new outdoor trim trails, check out our fund-o-meter on the PTA noticeboard.

Thank you to Rachel Young and her fantastic team for producing our most amazing Fireworks Display yet.

We think everyone will agree it was an amazing night.

Our ‘Push the Plunger’ Winners and some of the fabulous volunteers, hard at work.

We have a fantastic line up for this year’s West Bergholt’s 20th Fireworks night! Come along and join in with the fun at this amazing event on Saturday 10th November.

From the raging fire, stunning fireworks display, to the rocking band Bat Man’s Cat, BBC Essex’s radio DJ Steve Scruton, the essential bar, hook a duck, hog roast, BBQ,  candy floss, pop corn, stalls selling glow in the dark products and lots more, and generally a huge and A-M-A-Z-I-N-G crowd, it really is a night to remember!

The raging bonfire!

Did you know that the funds raised by the fireworks event go directly back to the school PTA so that with the recent government spending cuts we have the opportunity to buy essential equipment for the school.

Last year’s profits have provided lockers for the years 5 and 6, funded the Mathletics programme and the Kenyan Art Gazebo project, vital sports equipment, library furniture….in fact take a look here to see just what has been bought!

PS We are still looking for some volunteers for the night – from marshalling to helping serve on stalls, if you have a spare 2 hours on Saturday night, please email the Heathlands PTA: heathlandspta@hotmail.com Thank you!

Our fantastic event was on Saturday, 5th November, 2011. Did you come?

The amazing West Bergholt Fireworks

The raging bonfire!

The Fireworks night in West Bergholt organised by Heathlands Primary School is a huge event, attracting a massive crowd from villages far and wide.

A huge crowd!

The brilliant band Batman’s Cat played and (literally) ROCKED the stage!

What a great band!

The event was organised by Rachel Young and hosted by BBC Essex presenter, Steve Scruton

And what great games were on offer! Hook a duck, splat the rat, darts and many more!

Hook a duck, get an even number and win a prize!

 Hook a duck hostess Marika!

Jack was in charge of dispensing the runaway rats down the drain pipe! Who managed to splat one?

Can you splat the rat?

The toy stalls were amazing and selling out such was the demand! Items on offer included Light Sabres, flashing bracelets, necklaces (see Mrs Clarke below!) and teeny boppers and of course the vital refreshments!

After all that retail therapy we suddenly got VERY hungry and needed some food, so headed off to the barbecue then the pop corn hut!

Mr Coleman from Coleman's Butchers came to help chop up the delicious hog roast

The other barbecue stall volunteers – Ailish and Imelda

Wow that was fun selling at the barbecue, time for pop corn!

Now to the very popular Pop Corn hut!
